Rain greeted us at the start, but it did not stop eight riders from turning up for the very first ZZCC Sunday Social Ride on 6 September.

Starting from Tai Po, we covered 64.4 km with 498 metres of climbing. The SSR is a no-drop ride: we ride together and regroup along the way, while leaving space for anyone who wants to push a little harder on the climbs—especially the final rise along Bride’s Pool Road.

Between the wet roads and grey skies, the mood stayed light. It was a ride built around good company rather than chasing numbers—exactly what Sunday mornings should be.

After nearly three hours of riding, we finished at CRAP Café in Shek Mun. ZZCC co-founder Fei Wan was there to welcome everyone with a well-earned coffee on the house.

Wet roads, eleven riders and plenty of good company: a fitting beginning to our new Sunday tradition. Thank you to everyone who joined us despite the weather.
We ride again next Sunday. See you on the road.
